The Winns Primary is a three form entry school with a nursery. Admissions in to Reception – Year 6 are  governed by Waltham Forest admission procedures.

We welcome prospective parents/carers to visit our school. We hold school tours regularly so you can see what life at The Winns is like and our children very much enjoy meeting visitors and sharing their achievements.

– The year group that your child will be in or if your child is moving school during the school year,  please provide your child’s current school year

Applying for Reception Class

Reception 2022

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, they are due to start primary school in September 2022.

The closing date for applying for your child’s primary school place was 15 January 2022 and therefore any late applications should be made directly to the local authority – see Waltham Forest Admissions details below.

Reception 2023

If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, they are due to start primary school in September 2023.

Nursery children are allocated either part-time (15 hours) or full-time (30 hours) spaces. All children who are aged 3 and 4 years old receive 15 hours free child care. Children with working parents may be entitled to 30 hours of free childcare. To check if you are eligible for the 30 free hours childcare and to apply, please go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. In-Year Admissions

From time to time, we also have vacancies in other year groups. To apply for a place for one of our Years 1 to 6 classes, parents please visit the Waltham Forest In-Year Admissions page.
